SIR R. STOUT ON THE ELECTION.
(per pbess association.) Wellington, This day. Interviewed, Sir 11. Stout said the result of the elections was what be had pradicted, first, that tho womens vote would be democratic ; second, that the women would not declare against the secular education system ; and third, that the women would declare for the direct veto. He said the majority of the naw Parliament have pronounced emphatically against the Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act of last session, and that tbe principal of the direct v«to must be accepted or also the minority must faca tho alternative of coalition with the Opposition. The diifict vsto supporters are set down at 44, North Island 16, South Island 28.
