FOUND IN BARRACKS
TRESPASS BY YOUNG FATHER P.A. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Given notice to leave the King's Private Hotel, and with nowhere to go, a young married man with three children under the age of five climbed over a fence and entered the naval barracks at Oriental Bay last night. He intended to take his wife and children there. However, he was discovered by the caretaker and the police were ■ notified. . They arrested him and charged him with being without lawful excuse on the premises. Sub-Inspector Bickerdike gave these facts in the Magistrate's Ccurt to-day, when the young man, a motor mechanic, appeared and pleaded, guilty to the charge. "As far as I can gather, he is a decent man," said Mr. Bickerdike. ;
For the accused, Mr. A.' B. Siev-; wright said it was regrettable that the situation in New Zealand was as it was and that no proper arrangements had been made for persons in such a position as accused. He expressed the hope that now the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, had returned from San Francisco he would attend to such matters.
"The Court cannot close its eyes to people who walk into other people's property," said Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. "However, on this occasion I will convict and discharge him."
