BIG RUGBY GAME

PONSONBY REPRESENTATION A correspondent, "Drop-kick," writes as follows: "Being a keen follower of Rugby, I wish to protest against the selection of the Auckland team to play the Services team. It must be very disheartening for the rest of the Ponsonby team not to be Included in the rep. side. I would suggest that the Rugby union amend the title of the game to Ponsonby and Combined Clubs v. Services. After seeing quite a few of the Second and Third Devision teams in action, I am sure that there are several players who could have been given a try-out for future representative games. Why is a player of the calibre of Paewat not given a game as five-eighths, a position he has often filled In the South Island with credit?" There are six Ponsonby players in the Auckland side.
