WORLD AIR ROUTES
CONFERENCE IN LONDON British Official Wireless Rec. 12.30 p.m. RUGBY, July 11. Viscount Swinton, reporting on the progress of the Commonwealth Air Council's conference meeting in London, said three committees had been set up. One would consider relations between the council and aeronautical research development and kindred problems such as the laying out of airfields. Another would consider the problems of routes and questions such as the assessment of traffic and the capacity required to operate the routes. It would consider for each route the aircraft to be used and it had agreed that a common pool of reserve aircraft should be kept where operators used the same type of plane. A third committee would consider meteorological and navigational aids required On different routes. Lord Swinton said the recommendations of the committees would be considered by the full conference and would be subject to approval of the different Governments.
