TRAINER OF CLARICE
SETTLED AT ELLERSLIE
An addition to the rank of trainers at Ellerslie is L. George, who has been following his calling at Hawera for a number of years. During that period he turned out a big list of winners and in recent years was associated with that greater sprinter Clarice. This trainer brought two horses to Ellerslie, Mr. Cute and Sublime Fox, and both were out doing easy work this morning. Mr. Cute is an exceptionally big horse by Mr. Standfast from Cute Melody, by Nigger Ministrel froir* Miss Cute by Charles O'Malley. He won a Maiden race at New Plymouth last Christmas and also finished second to Silver Bell in the Borough Hack at Woodville. Sublime Fox is a bay gelding by Night Fox from Lady Eka, by Kiosk from Eka, by Acre—Park Tide, by Sylvia Park. Sublime Fox is a half-brother to Night Rav, which won the Egmont Cup in 1943. The apprentice rider, B. George, also came up with his father, and as he can go to scale at 7.0, and has ridden five winners since being licensed in January, his services are sure to be in demand.
