KING ORO AS SIRE

SYDNEY SAPLING STAKES The Auckland-bred pacing stallion King Oro figured as the sire of the winner of the Sydney Sapling Stakes at Harold Park, his two-year-old son, Oro Bay, from Peggy's Choice, scoring a six lengths' victory to win the mile in 2.20 1-5. Minton Dillon was second and the favourite. King Richard, was three lengths back in third place. King Oro was bred at the Mardella , Stud, Otahuhu, his sire being Rey de Oro. Oleda, dam of King Oro, was got by Great Audubon from Cocoaleen, a daughter of Rothschild. King Oro proved a good winner in Sydney and Adelaide. Peggy's Choice is by Abbey Dean, a son of Abbey Bells and Myrtle Dean, from a thoroughbred mare.
