WORLD COURT

Sir Michael Myers Speaks At Initial Meeting WELCOME AT WASHINGTON Rec. 1.30 WASHINGTON, April 9. Mr E. R. Stettinius, Secretary of State, welcoming jurists representing 30 of the United Nations meeting here to consider the establishment of a world court, said: "You must decide whether the old, permanent Court of International Justice is to be continued, or some new organisation established. To your measured judgment the people of the world, with faith in order under law, entrust this important initial work." Sir Michael Myers, New Zealand, one of the two delegates appointed to reply, said: "No person or nation can reasonably expect to have its own way in everything. There must be a readiness to give and take. Either we go forward to peace and security, or back to barbarism."
