THE FRANCO REGIME
A correspondent recently wrote to the Star extolling the Franco regime in Spain and complaining of the criticism levelled against it. J. n calling for cheers for Franco tms correspondent pays homage, to Fascism. Franco gained power dv the aid of Italian bayonets ana German and Italian bombers— plus, of course, the operations of the notorious "non intervention" of tne Chamberlain Government. With regard to Mr. Churchill's statement praising the "correct" behaviour or Franco during the World War, this statement deceived no one (unless it be your correspondent). It did, however, provoke a feeling of dismay and concern in political circles.
