OUTSTANDING FILLY
TWILIGHT TEAR SUPERIOR Earlier comment from America suggested that Twilight -Tear was the outstanding three-year-old filly of the present season, and some critics contended that she was the best of her age. The Tightness of this opinion has been borne out by the Arlington 50,000-dollar Stakes, run recently, for the filly accounted for the Hyperion colt Pensive, who had rompeu home in the Kentucky Derby. The horses were both bred at the Calumet Farm, but what is of material interest tfl New Zealanders is that lwilielit Tear is by Bull Lea from Lady Lark, the sire being by Bull Dog, who traces through Teddy and Plucky Liege to Spearmint. Further Rose Leaves, the dam of Bull Lea, traces to Trenton, another sire line that is well known in this country.
