RATIONING OF EGGS

ATTITUDE OF GROCERS (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. The matter of rationing of eggs, with priorities in cities and towns where eggs are expected to be in short supply, was fully considered at a special meeting of the executive of the Otago Master Grocers' Association this evening. It was stated that grocers had not been consulted in the matter and that no guarantee had been given that supplies would be forthcoming.

In view of the ridiculous position which would develop if supplies were insufficient to meet the requirements of the registered public, it was resolved that, until improved arrangements are made for a guaranteed supply of eggs to grocers, the registration of priority consumers will not be affected.
