INFORMATION SOUGHT

FILLING OP POST IX CANADA (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) . WELLINGTON, this day. "When does the Government propose to announce the filling of the vacancy of the High Commissionership to Canada?" asked Mr. C. M. Bowden (Nat., Wellington West) in notice of a question to the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Bowden said the post had remained vacant for 15 months and he asked whether it was correct that the Minister of Broadcasting, Mr. Wilson, had been selected to fill it.

"If he has been chosen," Mr. Bowden continued, "is it the Government's intention to reappoint him to the Legislative Council for a further term of seven years notwithstanding his absence from the country?"
