U.S. Bombing Of Carolines And Marshalls NO ALLIED PLANES LOST Rec. 1 p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 14. Further attacks on the Carolines and eastern .Marshalls are reported in a Pacific Fleet communique. Mitchell bombers on Sunday bombed Kusaie, in the Carolines, starting several fires.

Liberators and Dauntless divebombers attacked four bases in the eastern Marshalls hitting the cantonment area and the radio station at one base and damaging gT. n emplacements, and blowing up an ammunition dump at another base. Navy search planes bombed two Marshalls bases and damaged two enemy fighters in the air near Ponape, in the Carolines. No American planes were lost in these operations.
