A WIDOW'S CLAIM
POSSESSION OF HOUSE
A claim for possession of a house, brought by Mrs. Mary Ann Barton (Mrs C. A. Sneddcn), against Francis and Violet Webber (Mr. Nembury) was heard before Mr. Justice Johnston yesterday. Plaintiff, a widow aged 72, claimed that she owned a house in Arch Hill and she agreed to give up part of it to defendants, a nephew and his wife, provided they boarded her and let her have the general run of the house. She alleged they had not kept their agreement and had not been kind to her. She consequently gave them notice to quit, which they ignored. The defendants said they had left a State house at plaintiff's entreaty to live with her, and declared that they had kept their part of the bargain. After hearing the evidence his Honor made an order for possession within two months.
