Fairly plentiful supplies of cauliflowers arid cabbage came to the city markets w-dw. bers are very plentiful, and exceptionally Cliwp. Good quality beans and peas are in demand, but inferior quality are selling at much lower ratts. Both citron and water melons are plentiful ana cheap. Good celery is coming to hand in increased quantities. Pumpkins arc in heavy supply, selling at prices under cost of production. Potatoes are in fair supply and onions in short supply. The demand for outdoor grapes is slightly firmer. Not so- many tomatoes are offering and prices improved for choicest lines. Prices are:— Fruit.—Tomatoes: Outdoor smooth, 4/ to 10/ per case; seconds and cracked, 1/ 3/. FW£nes. Dessert. 21/6 per 3-tray; dessert, 10/ to *3/ Pgr case. Grapes: Hothouse—Black Hamburg. 1/2 to 2/ per lb; Gros Colman. 2/6 to 4/3. Outdoor— Albany Surprise;, 13/ to 20/ per crate; Te *£®uwhata grown, 16/6 to 26/. Cape Gooseberries, to 1/4 per lb. Passion Fruit,. 7/ to 14/.per' cm Fige, 4/ to 10' per case. Quirxes, 8/ to 14/ per case. , Vegetables.—Beet. 2/ to 6/ per Celeiy. Cooking. 1/6 to 3/; dessert, 4/6 to to 8/ per bag. Cauliflowers, 7/ to 14/ per sack. Cabbages, 3/to 11/ per ed U, 1/6 per doz. French Beans, 2/ to 5/ per Dag. Stringless Beans, 7/ to 14/6 per bag. Green Ppas 8' to 21/ per bag. Poultry.—The supply was heavy, and the demand was keen. Fat Hens: Heavy breeds. 7/6 to 10/ breeds, 4/6 to 6/. Drakes, young, prime, 4/ to 5/ each, smaller, 2/ up. Ducks, young, 5/ to 7''6 each; old, 3/. Drakes, old, 3/ each. . ' Flowers. —Flowers were in short supply. Demand was fair and prices were moderately high for best quality.
