BRITISH RAYON TRADE
LONDON, Feb. 20. British Rayon Federation has issued a" report claiming for rayon a large pleasure of separation from the cotton industry organisation. It says that the Cotton Board does not expect the British cotton industry to exceed the 1930 production, but the rayon industry expects a "very substantial expansion" in postwar years. The report states that the production of rayon and rayon staple is mainly a chemical process to which no other textile industry offers an analogy. It claims "unrestricted freedom to pursue any path scientific discovery and technical development may open." It urges rayon research separate from cotton and claims for the rayon industry the right of direct approach to Government Departments.
