IMPORT AMENDMENTS

The Customs Department advises that the altocation for imports from Australia of gluten flour durinc the eighth period is increased from 100 per cfntto 200 per cent of the value of licenses granted for the importation of such goods frwn all sources during 1942. Advice has been received to the effect that licenses for the export 01 gum arable from the Sudan will be granted only on notification of the Issue of a New Zealand import license. Authority is given to the Customs Department to receive applications for a specinett list of drugs and chemicals from Australia. Licenses to import drinking glasses other Ulan cut-glass will be granted for the United Kingdom equal to seventh period licenses issued for uie United Kingdom and Australia. Licenses lor currants and raisins from Australia will bo issued in each case up to 110 per cent of the seventh, period licenses.
