ASSISTANT-DIRECTOR
MR. WILLIAM YATES CHOSEN

The appointment of Mr. William Yates, secretary of the National Broadcasting Service, as AssistantDirector of Broadcasting has been approved.
Mr. Yates has had long administrative experience in broadcasting, and has been closely associated with the actual production of programmes as performer, producer and author. He is a native of Lancashire, and came to New Zealand in 1912, joining the Education Department two years later. He was appointed to the Broadcasting Department in 1934.
