TRAM STRUCK
LIGHTNING FLASH
MOTORMAX SUFFERS SHOCK
A tram in Richmond Road was struck by lightning during the thunderstorm late yesterday afternoon. No serious injury was sustained by any of the passengers, but the motorman, and a woman passenger, were slightly shocked. Three streaks of lightning struck the car in rapid succession. There was a loud report, as the switch box blew out, and momentarily the interior of the car was brilliantly illuminated.
