TRAVEL CLUB PAGEANT
A pageant of colour in fashions from the 18th qentury to the present day, and costumes of Allied nations was presented to a crowded attendance of members of the Auckland Travel Club for the final meeting of the year at the Milne and Choyce reception hall yesterday. The vicepresident, Miss G. Bertram, presided. Costumes worn by the women who owned them or to whom they had been lent were shown in the period fashion parade; which had been organised by the committee and Miss Bertram, who was in an 1844 gown. Shawls of all styles proved a fascinating part of the parade. The Allied Nations pageant was arranged by Madame Humphrey Steward. Musical accompaniment added to the enjoyment. The president, Mrs. Victor Macky, was welcomed back from Dunedin, and she brought greetings from the Dunedin Travel Club.
