ABATTOIR PLANNING
IMMEDIATE COST, £54,000 With a comprehensive scheme before it for the development of the Municipal Abattoir, the Auckland City Council has decided to instruct the architects, Messrs. Chilwell and Trevithick, to proceed immediately with the preparation of detail plans and specifications for the first stage of the work, estimated to cost £54,000. It was decided also that future additions and alterations to the mutton slaughterhouse provide for the all-chain system of killing and dressing, that application be made to the Government for approval of the . proposed works, and that application be made to the Loans Board for raising the required loan. '
The cost of the comprehensive scheme was estimated at £127.406, but the architects stressed that there could be no degree of accuracy in estimating under present conditions.
