HAEGG'S TIMES BEATEN

STOCKHOLM, Aug. 19. The Swedish runner Arne Andersson set a world's record for 1500 metres of 3.45. The official world figures for the distance are 3.47 4-5, established by J. E. Lovelock, of New Zealand, at the Olympic Games in Berlin in 193 G. Since then Gunder Haegg has run 1500 metres in 3.45 4-5 at Stockholm. Andersson ran the mile on record at Stockholm on July 1 of this year, his time being 4.2 '4-5. The previous best official time was that of Haegg, 4.4 3-5.
