MEMORIAL BUSH
;KIRIPAKA ROAD RESERVE SUGGESTED CHANGE IN NAME (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Whangarei "Chamber- of Commerce last night supported a proposal expounded by the president of the Northland Forest Society, Mr. J. P. Mitchell, that 270 acres of bush reserve situated on Kiripaka Road should be named . the Crawford Mernoriar.Bush in recognition of the outstanding work done by the late Mr. H. W, .Crawford in furthering afforestation.. . '-While supporting the proposal Mr. Ev ; L. Whimp considered .that; the life work of Mr; Crawford deserved wider recognition by Northland .'as a whole! "He was born in, worked in, and lived for, Northland, and his whole energy was devoted to furthering its advancement," said Mr. Whimp, in indicating his intention of calling together Northland local bodies to decide upon a memorial representative of the whole area.
