MINESWEEPER LAUNCHED
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. The third minesweeper to be completed at Port Chalmers in the last six months, H.M.N.Z.S. Maimai, was launched to-daj'. The Maimai is the third of five minesweepers which were originally planned to be constructed at Port Chalmers, but an announcement was made during the ceremony to-day by the Controller of Shipping, Mr. James Fletcher, that this number had now been increased to ten for immediate requirements.
