GIFTS MADE TO TROOPS

The Patriotic Fund Board has received a cablegram from Mr. Steptoe, Acting-Commissioner in the Middle East, stating that in December and January, the Y.M.C.A., as the board's agent, supplied the New Zealand Division in action with 1,779,000 cigarettes, 91,627 tins of tobacco, 375,474 bars of chocolate, 76,824 packets of biscuits, and 34-032 tins of milk. These comforts, to the value of £1035 in New Zealand currency, were distributed free.
