POULTRY FARMING

"X Ploited." under the heading "Poultry Keeping," in the Star on Monday last, suggests that tne Department, of Agriculture should take action in lowering costs ana bettering conditions in the poultry industry. The Department of Agriculture is a Government Department and as such is subject to Government policy. Action in these matters must come from the poultry keepers themselves. Will "X Ploited" accept the suggestion that he joins the local poultry organisation in his district, and that he then works wholeheartedly with them for the producers' interests. Should there be no organisation in his district, he should get together a few poultry farmers and form a body with this end in view. For information on this or any poultry subject he would be well recommended to contact one of the poultry instructors of the Department of Agriculture, Auckland. H. STEINERT.
