DEATHS ON SERVICE
Advice has been received by Mrs. D. Leahy, of Auckland, of the death of her son, Flight-Lieutenant lan Stewart Leahy, on active service. He was an old boy of Takapuna Grammar School, served with a torpedo squadron of the CoastaJ Command in Britain, and took part in the action against the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisnau, when they escaped from Brest. More recently he served as a station navigator at Ceylon. He was promoted to flight-lieutenant only recently; Sub-Lieut. Desmond H. Warner, eldest son of Mr., H. M. Warner, of Remuera, is reported killed on active service with the Fleet Air Arm. He was a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, the New Zealand Institute of Secretaries, the Australian Institute of Secretaries, and the Australian Institute of Cost Accountants. While undergoing training in the United States he was made a member of the American' Society of Cost Accountants.
