INTENDS TO RETIRE
MR. W. B. DARLOW'S POSITION Mr. - W. 8.-Darlow, chairman of the Waitemata Electric Power Board and deputy-chairmdn of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, has announced his intention of relinquishing all activity in public life when his present public offices expire. He will not be a candidate at the next or any future Parliamentary elections. Mr, Darlow said to-day that it was many years since he began to take an active part in public affairs, and he felt that his friends, at least, would agree that he had contributed a reasonable share of hjs time and energy to them. Mr. Darlow is also a member of the Auckland City Council, the Auckland Harbour Board, of which he is a past-chair-man, and the Waitemata Licensing Committee, and he has served on the Birkenhead Borough Council and the Birkenhead School Committee.
