UNION FEE ARREARS
HAMILTON COUNCIL'S STAND (0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. The Hamilton Borough Council last night confirmed its resolution of five months ago refusing to undertake the collection of union fees from employees. A letter from the secretary of the Hamilton branch of the General Labourers' Union, Mr. N. A. Holdaway, asked the council to reconsider its earlier' decision. He stated that organisers were allowed to use union cars only to investigate a dispute between employers ' and workers. The union secretary had supplied the council with a list of employees in arrears of more than three months with their union fees.
