LAUNDRY WORKERS
A new award sought by the Auckland laundry workers, with demands for wage increases for various classes of workers up to 10/ a week, was argued before the Arbitration Court yesterday by Mr. W. E. Anderson, for the employers, and Mr. H. S. Gallagher for the workers. Changed conditions created by the large influx of Allied forces were urged in support of the claim for increased wages. The court reserved decision.
