STRATEGY IN PACIFIC
FORCE JAPANESE BACK (0.C.) WELLINGTON, Friday. "I am confident that adequate support will be provided during the present- year for the American, Australian and New Zealand forces in both the Pacific areas to ensure that the Japanese will not only be held in their present line in the Pacific Islands, but will be forced back, said the Prime Minister. Mr. Fraser, to-day, in commenting on Mr. Churchill's statement in House of Commons. Mr. Churchill had made it plain that definite priority was to be given to the defeat of Hitjer before embarking on the decisive stage against the Japanese. "From information received it is apparent that Mr. Churchill and Mr. Roosevelt are fully alive to this danger, and that the Pacific situation was ever present in their minds at Casablanca," Mr. Fraser said.
