CHEQUE OVER MILLION

With the results of the fourth appraisement of wool from the Auckland Province announced yesterday, the return for the last four clips is £1,169,678, compared with £1,008,920 last yfisr. The bales handled total 59,591, against 58,683 last year. ~ , The secretary of the Auckland Woolbrokers' Association, Mr. J. E. Connor, in announcing the result yesterday, said 28,886 bales were appraised, with a net weight of 10,405,3841b. The total value was £578,814 and the average price £20 0/9 a bale and 13.35 d per lb. The cheque was distributed this week. There are two further appraisals to take place in the current season, one on March 4 and the other on April 7. It is expected that from 20,000 to 25,000 bales will be available in March.
