WORK AFTER WAR

SCHEMES OF LOCAL BODIES

The steps by which the Auckland Suburban Local Bodies' Association could assist the Government byplanning post-war works to assist with rehabilitation of servicemen, was discussed at a meeting of the Auckland Suburban Local Bodies Association last evening. On the motion of the chairman, Mr. I. -J. Goldstine, it was decided to attempt to co-ordinate affiliated bodies' proposals so as to present a united plan to the> Rehabilitation Board, with the provision, however, that local bodies should have the right to deal individually with the board. It was also decided that each affiliated lodal body should be requested to submit its proposals so that they could be examined by the association executive; that it submit a report containing recommended proposals to the local bodies; and that the report, or amended report, be submitted to the association for final discussion, and then sent to the Government and Rehabilitation Board.
