SYDNEY, Feb. 9. On the Stock Exchange to-day quotations were firm, but business was stagnant because of the restraining limits on selling imposed by the Treasury. Sales included: Broken Hill Proprietary, £2; Broken Hill South, £1 6/; Mount Lyell. £1 9/- Placer Development. £2 11/; W. R. Carpenter, £1 10/6; Howard Smith, £1 3/3.
