ON 'CHANGE MARKET LEADERS SPURT Sharp advances in New Zealand Insurances and Colonial Sugars were reatures of business on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, when buyers made a strong attempt to bring more sellers forward. The insurance shares, which were cum. dividend at £3 17/6 about a fortnight ago, and are now quoted ex dividend, changed hands at £3 18/6, with final dealing at a new high level of £4. Colonial Sugars were in keen demand also, and supplies were obtained only at mounting values, the last sale being £55 15/, a total gain of £2. There was also some activity in gilt-edged at better prices.
