ARMY PROMOTION
Advice has been received by Mrs. F. Aickin, of Te Kuiti, that her husband, Lieutenant F. Aickin, has been promoted to the rank of captain. His father was the late Mr. Casement Aickin, of Auckland. Captain Aickin was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and prior to his enlistment, about two years ago, he lived at Whangamata. He farmed for some years at Helensville. He left New Zealand in June, 1941 as a second-lieutenant with . a motor transport unit.
