PRESBYTERY MEETS
AMERICAN CHAPLAIN'S WISH Tributes were paid at a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last evening to the services during the past twelve months of the retiring Moderator, the Rev. J. D. Smith, minister of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church. His work on behalf of the Campaign for Christian Order was the subject of particular reference. The Rev. R. Ferguson Fish, minister of St. Paul's Church, Devonport, was elected Moderator in place of Mr. Smith, whose term of office has expired. , . A - A chaplain to the United States Forces, the Rev. Stephen Crary, who is a member of the Presbytery of Detroit, Southern Michigan, told the meeting of his wish to be registered as a minister competent to perform marriages in Auckland. It was decided to ask the registrar of marriages to include Mr. Crary's name in the list of officiating ministers.
