WINTER MILK PRICES

Milk and cream prices for the winter months, to come into force on March 1, were fixed at last night's meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan' Milk Council. They are substantially the same as those in operation last winter and will continue until August 31. For the six months there will be an "all-round increase of 4d a gallon, which will be paid to the producers. Householders will purchase loose milk at 7d a quart and bottled milk at 7ld. The cost to the Auckland Hospital Board, which was increased by 2d a gallon when summer prices were fixed, were increased another 2d a gallon, the winter price to be 1/7S a gallon. No increase was made in the price of cream. Regulations were adopted requiring all those concerned in the delivery or sale of milk or cream to the public to keep it at all times at a temperature not exceeding 55 degrees.
