HAWERA HORSES
FOB TRENTHAM (Special) HAWERA, Tuesday. Duncannon, Bright Gesture and Duncroon left for Trentham on Monday, and they will be ridden in their engagements by L. Clifford. Before leaving, these horses worked exceptionally well and therefore should give a good account of themselves. _ The Wellington Cup candidate Battledress is due to leave on Thursday, and he will be accompanied by Barras, Night Ray and Skipper Gay. Battledress has been taking more interest in his training during the past couple of weeks and has been responsible for some smart sprints, so that he may rehabilitate himgg]f f Th£ two-year-old Barras, which made an exceptionally impressive debut at Stratford, has done everything right since then, and should take a lot of beating in his engagements, while Night Ray is expected to show up in the Highweiglit on Saturday, if the sting happens to be out of the ground. She has been racing unluckily.
