KILLED AND MISSING
AIR FORCE CASUALTIES
_ Wing-Commander M. V. Blake D.5.0., D.F.C., who has been reported missing on operations, was educated at Southland Boys' High School, where he excelled at gymnastics and the high jump. He graduated Master of Science with honours from Canterbury University College. He also won a University "Blue" for athletics, and in 1936, won the New Zealand pole-vault championship. Wing-Commander Blake entered the Royal Air Force in 1936 on a shortservice commission.
Sergeant-Pilot Nelson Turner , 24, who has been reported Killed on operations overseas, is the son of Mrs. M. A. Turner, Stanley Point, Devonport. He was educated at Thames High School and Auckland Grammar School, and prior to his enlistment on the outbreak of war, was employed by the North Bntish Insurance Company, Limited. He left New Zealand last April.
