DESTROYER'S FEAT
SHIP'S COMPLEMENT SAVED

LONDON, Sept 28.
Survivors from a torpedoed merchant ship described how a destroyer rescued the full complement of 240 members of the crew and the passengers in eight minutes. The ship was hit at 3 a.m. and 10 lifeboats were launched in the darkness. The destroyer at first circled, dropping jdepth charges, then she nosed among (the lifeboats and hoisted everyone aboard.
