PILOT'S NARROW ESCAPE

British Official Wireless Rec. noon. RUGBY, Sept. 28. By releasing his bomb just before an anti-aircraft shell hit him, a Canadian bomber pilot escaped destruction. The Canadian was attacking an enemy supply ship. He -pressed the release and the bomb dropped down towards the ship, passing a Bofors shell in mid-air. The bomb hit the ship, which was later seen .beached and the anti-aircraft shell which would have hit the bombrack and blown the plane to pieces was deflected through the wing. .
