MOVE FOR UNITY
PREDICTIONS ASTRAY NEGOTIATIONS TO CONTINUE (0.C.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holland, will return to Wellington to-morrow, when it is expected that his discussions with the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, on the political unity proposals will be resumed. The absence of official information from both leaders has given great play to rumours, ranging from suggestions of a deadlock to a prediction that Messrs. Holland and Coates will have important portfolios, involving a rearrangement of the present Cabinet. Neither statement is justified.
All that can be said to-day is that negotiations will continue, but they have not reached any such stage as the rumours suggest.
