JAPANESE ADVANCE
CAPTURE OF CHUHSIEX
Rec. 2 p.m. CHUNGKING, June 7.
The Associated Press correspondent says the Chungking Chinese Command announces that the Japanese have penetrated Chuhsien, in the Chekiang Province, and adds that the Chinese have launched a concentrated counter-attack with a view to preventing a junction of the two Japanese drives on Kiangsi and Chekiang. Militarists explain that such a junction would give the enemy control of the inter-provincial railway and also might trap large Chinese forces.
