Beau Vaals and Royal Merit Sprint Fast
A smart effort by the two-year-olds Beau Vaals and Royal .'.orit when they ran five furlongs in 1.2 3-5 was the feature of the work at Takanini this morning, when the semi-final gallops were executed on the inside grass track with the poles 20ft out. The weather was showery, but the going was not affected. Both Beau Vaals and Royal Merit worked well, particularly the former, who finished a neck in front. Sleepy Fox was also responsible for a nice effort bv running five furlongs in 1.3. Route March and Proud Fox were associated over the same ground, running 1.2 3-5, Route March going away over the concluding stages to finish a length in front. Court Favourite and Ever England ran seven furlongs in 1.28 3-5, both working well, while the hacks, Foxlore and MiSs Gay. were responsible for an excellent effort over six furlongs in 1.15, Foxlore finishing a shade in front. Other gallops were:—Four furlongs: Kentish and Dash o' Dink, 50 3-ss. Five furlongs: Foxola, 1.7 easily. Six furlongs: First Edition and Verus, 1.17; Ascot Bloom and Dublin Show, 1.18 2-5- River l-iSJ Indian Princess and Lady Pep h ° ne mile: Cornish and Round Up, 1.50.
ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS TREBLE (Morrinsville).—Bobrikoff, 8.12 finished second to All Red In 1908.
