SNOW IN ASHBURTON
(P.A.) ASHBURTON, this day. Further snow fell in the back country during the week-end, a few inches at Clent Hills and more towards the mountains. Runholders have been isolated since the snow began three weeks ago, pack horses being the only means of obtaining supplies. Fairly high losses of sheep-, which were smothered in snow, are reported. In other cases hand feeding has been necessary.
