AT CHRISTCHURCH

The request of the King for a national day of prayer was honoured in Christchurch by a combined service in which members of all churches were associated. The Civic Theatre was packed by a large crowd. The Mayor, Mr. E. H. Andrews, presided and the speaker was the Rev. Alan Watson. Others who took part in the service were Archbishop West-Watson, the Rev. Boulton Smith and the Rev. R. Dudley.
