NEED FOR UNITY

DEPUTATION PROPOSED i ■ ■ An invitation to citizens and organisations to be represented on a proposed deputation to the Government and the Opposition, for the purpose of making representations in favour of the forming of a truly National Government, with the postponement of the elections and the cessation of all party strife, is issued by the Dominion chairman of the People's Movement. Mr. J. Crisp, in a statement made to-day. Mr. Crisp stated that it was the movement's definite intention to proceed with its request to the party leaders for it considered that there was only one national issue of importance at the present time— the winning of the war. On every side one heard of solid support for the principle of unity. Nothing would be .settled by a general election except the destruction .of any hope of national unity. There would be no question of sectional or political bias or any personal advantage sought in the" organising of the deputation.
