ARGENTINE EXPORTS SHIPPING SHORTAGE (0.C.) WELLINGTON, this day. From the oHicial figures of Argentine exports for the first 111 roe months of 1 his year, it is disclosed that, exports of lamb, which were 1.3R5.K5S carcases in the first three months of 1010. had dropped to 533,177, a decrease of 831,001 earcases.

During the same period New Zealand was able to send away 038.5 i < lamb carcases, a decline compared with the corresponding three mo.uhs of last year, of 302,313.

Another important Argentine product, frozen beef, shows a decline in the first quarter this year to less than half the total in the previous year's period, but an improvement, in frozen mutton is shown, the export rising from 33.820 carcases to 71,130. Argentine's export of wheat and maize if. less than half the usual total this year, and linseed exports. 433.000 tons in the first quarter of 1940, have dropped to 98.011 ions.

A significant indication of the trend of meat export from Argentine is the doubling of canned meat export in this period, when the United Kingdom took .VjO.GO.'! cases. United States rj2/,SS2. and other countries ;W6,370, a total of 1.11 1,021 cases. New Zealand's export of canned and potted meats in the same three months was only 10.070 cwt.
