DIAMOND JUBILEE
THIS TRAINING COLLEGE
Celebration of the diamond jubilee of the Auckland Teachers' Training College on Monday will he marked by a reunion and sports meeting in the afternoon, and a ball in the evening. The Training College was established at Wcllesley Street in ISSI when the first principal was Mr. A. McArthur. Later the college was closed, but it was reopened in 1906. In 190S a separate building was provided, that now occupied by the Auckland Education Board, and the principal was the late Mr. H. A. E. Milnes. The present college at Epsom Avenue. Mount Eden, was opened in 1920. the principal being Air. H. G. Cousins. His successor was the present principal. Mr. D. M. Rae. who joined the staff as viceprincipal in 1924. The college has a roll number between 550 and 000. and there are many past pupils in various parts of the Dominion.
