HORSES SICK.
TRANSFER NEEDED.
SNOW AT WAIOURU CAMP.
Wintry conditions at Waiouru military camp during the pact week have ic.-ulted in several hundred horses developing sickness to such an extent that it became necessary to transfer the affected animals to Xgaruawahia
Of the 1660 horses in Waiouru camp are !»Mng shifted north immediately. In the meantime the other 1000 animals are to lie kept at Waiouru. It was stated at headquarters of the Northern Military District this morning that the question of shifting the whole of the Ist Mounted Rifles Brigade to another area for the. completion of its three months' training was under consideration.
During the week-end it it reported that snow fell at Waiouru. and the liorscrs which are not accustomed to such severe conditions arc developing sickness.
